Geography Sustainability Workshop

Selected students from year 9,10 and 12 took part in a cross-key-stage online geography sustainability workshop, alongside other schools across the country. In small groups, students had to discuss key geographical issues around the world before applying this knowledge to a fictional planet - Ergon. Students were able to utilise their excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills to find sustainable solutions for a fictional country on Ergon. Students from Bishop Justus presented their final solution to a panel of judges (via Zoom) and competed against the other schools. The students from Bishop Justus were excellent and were crowned the winners after an exceptional presentation! Well done to all students who took part, they displayed exemplary teamwork, communication and critical thinking skills throughout.

Comment from a year 9 student who took part:

"The activity workshop was enjoyable and different. It was nice to do an activity outside of a usual classroom setting. It was great that we won!"

Comment from a year 12 student who took part:

"It was great to learn more about sustainability and have the opportunity to work with students in other year groups."
