Welcome from the Headteacher
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Bishop Justus Church of England School.
We are the only Church of England comprehensive school in Bromley and, as such, offer a distinctive educational ethos based on a Christian foundation. Our strong pastoral structure ensures that every student is known individually and is set on the path to realising his or her potential within the context of a caring Christian community.
Bishop Justus is a Church of England, voluntary-aided school with Specialist Music College status.
Founded in 2004, the school provides a high quality education for boys and girls aged 11–19. As a centre for learning, academic success takes place within a stimulating and happy environment which encourages full development of abilities, personality and talents. I am proud to lead a dedicated and talented team of professionals who share a sense of purpose and vision.
We are privileged to learn and work in a state of the art building, with outstanding facilities and are very proud of the success our students achieve. In May 2012 we recieved excellent feedback from both the Ofsted and SIAS inspections: Ofsted judged the school as Good in every respect with Leadership and Management as Outstanding; SIAS judged the school as Outstanding in every respect. These assessments underline the hardwork and achievement of all the school community.
Bishop Justus School is committed to excellence. Our curriculum is designed to offer a broad range of subjects, to encourage independent learning and to provide a range of wider learning opportunities. We expect the highest standards of work, dress, behaviour, attendance and punctuality. Working in partnership with parents, we provide a firm framework within which all students are able to achieve irrespective of their start point.
We believe that everyone has something special to contribute and, as a Church of England School, encourage the moral and spiritual well-being of our students as well as their academic achievements. Worship is at the heart of our community and our full time Chaplain supports and encourages the students to explore Christian ideals so that when they leave us they are well prepared for life in the world today.
