RSHE Policy

The Aquinas Trust policy document can be found on the Aquinas Trust website. Post consultation the policy was amended and approved by Trustees, with reference to a comment from a respondent and it is this final version which is available on the Aquinas website.


RSHE Curriculum

KS3 and KS4 LTP

Year 7 & 8

We will be teaching the legally required RSHE curriculum alongside the Knowledge Curriculum this year. This will appear as ‘Knowledge’ on your son/daughter’s timetable in September. Your son/ daughter will receive one hour of a PSHE combined with the legally required RSHE curriculum and one hour of Knowledge every two weeks.

PSHE is a very important part of a student’s education, teaching them incredibly important information that is not fully covered within other subjects of the National Curriculum.

See the long-term plan of topics to be taught across all year groups. We will be using thematic government approved plans from the PSHE association, to form the basis of our teaching.

Year 9

We will be teaching the legally required RSHE curriculum alongside a new Media Literacy Curriculum this year. This will appear as ‘Citizenship’ on your son/daughter’s timetable in September. Your son/ daughter will receive one hour of a PSHE combined with the legally required RSHE curriculum and one hour of Media Literacy every two weeks.

Year 10
