OFSTED March 2016

SMU I am delighted to share with you our Ofsted Inspection Report (March 2016). The inspection judged that Bishop Justus continues to be a ‘Good’ school and that we have made considerable improvements since our last inspection in 2012.

This is an excellent outcome for the whole school community. The report reflects the hard work by students, parents, carers, teachers, the Aquinas Trust and governors of the school.  The inspection team recognised the rapid improvements that have taken place in recent years across a number of key areas, most notably within our 6th Form and for our most able learners.  I was grateful too that the inspection team recognised the work we do for disadvantaged students and how well they perform during their time here.  We continue to be a school where attainment is above national averages in all subjects at GCSE, where the majority of students leave the sixth form for their first choice university and where students speak enthusiastically about cherishing their time with us.

I would like to thank all of you for your strong support over the years - we work together in a very special school community of which we can be rightly proud.  The team recognised the caring nature of our school but also the drive and passion of leaders both within the school and the Aquinas Trust to deliver our vision and to continuously improve; parents can be assured that this will continue.

I do hope you enjoy reading such an excellent report, a report that captures the true picture of Bishop Justus Church of England School.
