Students Hike for Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award

From Friday 6th-Monday 8th May, 14 Bishop Justus students took part in their Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award in the New Forest. The expedition consisted of 3 days hiking and camping in the New Forest, totalling 21 hours of walking and activities over the 3 days, as well as preparing and cooking their own meals. The students had to spend 3 and a half hours each day completing activities they had planned, including observing natural life in a local reptile sanctuary, and photographing different forms of nature and wildlife throughout their hike.
The students maintained extraordinarily high spirits throughout the weekend and even organised and participated in a very competitive volleyball match! The students worked so hard all weekend and positive attitudes from all appeared to be unwavering. This was a massive achievement for all, and every single student finished with a smile on their face. A brilliant and very memorable weekend for all; well done ladies and gents!
