The Last 6th Form Eucharist of the year.

Two of our Year 13 students chose to read for their last Eucharist and there was a real sense of excitement and celebration. Afterwards, many students shared that the Eucharist had changed their mind set and made them feel confident for their exams and ready to embark on the next chapter in their lives. There was a real sense of anticipation for Year 12 as they prepare to move into their final school year at Bishop Justus.

    Thinking Groups: The Challenge

    Thinking Groups: The Challenge

Yesterday morning, our year 8 Thinking Groups gave their Challenge presentations to a select audience of peers and judges. The standard of thinking, research, analysis and oracy on display was extremely impressive; all of the students involved will be rightly proud of the skill and hard work they showed. Mr Murphy, Miss Arscott and Mr Harriss were entertained and invigorated by presentations which ranged from “In order to be a successful leader, is it better to be loved or feared?”, “In a perfect world, would we need privacy?”, and “Who, if anyone, should not be able to vote?”. The questions were all taken directly from the Oxford and Cambridge interview process, and our year 8s showed that with th...

    BBC News School Report 2018

A huge well done to the Year 9 students that took part in our BBC News School Report Day on Thursday 15th March. The day was very successful and the students really engaged and had a lot of fun being journalists and news presenters.  The students met in the morning gathering news headlines from various papers and the internet, choosing the ones they felt would make a good report for later in the day. They then had a production meeting where they discussed their stories and learnt how to write a script and filmed some interviews with other students for their news segments.  Our reporters then prepared for their broadcast and learnt how to set up the equipment including the green screen and autocue; ready to become News A...

    Snow Reports!

    Snow Reports!

The Beast From The East By Megan Rose Year 8  The ‘Beast from the East’ covered the UK this week with below freezing temperatures and heavy snow. This is our School experience… The Beast from the East came on the 26th of Feb bringing widespread snow showers. Many amber and yellow warnings were placed in the Southeast, though Red warnings were placed in Scotland. On the 28th of February most schools in the borough of Bromley were closed. Yet Bishop Justus pushed on and we came in at 10am; being told the day was to continue as normal. This shows that we at Bishop Justus worked persistently hard to continue our education. There have been many fun activities on today such as History debates; snow inspired...
