Year 13 results success: the long wait is over!Posted on: 14/08/2020
Huge congratulations to this year’s year 13 students of whom we are rightly very proud. And we were delighted to see the vast majority turn up to open their envelopes on the day, even when they knew they had already secured their university places for September. Some of the fantastic top-end results included: Rachel Wickett who achieved A*AA and goes on to read English and Drama at Royal Holloway; Herbie Wilkinson who achieved A*A*B and goes on to read Mathematics at Newcastle; Lucy David who achieved A*AA and will read Modern Languages at Durham; Harvie Bateman who achieved AAB and plans to read Medicine next year; Rico Cottell who achieved A*AC and will read Economics and Maths at Leeds. Alice Facques achieved AAC and has the enviable task now of reading Marine Biology at Plymouth. And further fantastic achievements include Roxanna Oanta, John Abbott, Evangeline Weale who all scored ABB.
But of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg, and after such a long absence from school this year, we were delighted to see our students again; expressions spoke of both relief and happiness with successes across A-level and BTEC courses. Even after national moderation of grades, our students had achieved the grades to send them far and wide to Nottingham, Bournemouth, Canterbury, Exeter, Surrey and Loughborough. And to study a wide range of advanced courses, from Law and Business to Architecture, Politics and Journalism; from Mechanical Engineering to International Relations. The successes and experiences of this cohort will stand them in good stead for the future, and we wish them every good fortune in their learning and their careers. We cannot wait to see them return for their Summer Prom in January and hear about what it was finally like to sit an exam.
